Top 10 Bait Boats
We have chosen the top 10 bait boats under £200 that will help you get bait out to your spot quickly and efficiently.
More and anglers are using bait boats because they are now much more affordable compared to a few years ago.
Bilbear Bait Boat
Looking for a bait boat under £200 capable of holding more than 2kg of bait?
The Bilbear bait boat features a unique design with three large capacity hoppers, a 500m range and a 5200mAh battery that lasts up to 8 hours.
If you’re left with a low battery on your mobile, or other device, you can plug it into the bait boat via a USB cable for some extra juice!
Measuring just under 10inches long and 5 inches tall, it is a compact solution that is easy to carry, weighing just 0.7kg minus the battery.
But, all of our bait boat reviews scrutinises steering, speed and power, because as an angler myself, I know these are critical features!
There is nothing worse than failing to navigate away from an obstacle, or losing power while trying to deliver bait to your patch.
So, the Bilbear has built-in ‘stabilisation’ software which corrects the path you are trying to steer to – a great feature when using across choppy waters, or high winds.
The GPS controller feels comfortable, and you can memorise up to three hotspots using the fishfinder function.
It features an intelligent ‘one-key return’ with a small LCD display showing you the exact position of your bait boat.
Overall, although it’s not a brand I am familiar with, but I have to admit that this was one of the best bait boats under £200 so far!
This is because of the fantastic battery life; steering felt smooth, and with some great technology, such as automatic cruise, it is a great option that I’m sure won’t let you down!
2kg Bait Capacity
Intelligent Correction System
Built-in Fishfinder with 45m depth
GPS Two-handed Controller
Three Blade Propellers

AHWZ Bait Boat
Camo fan or not, the AHWZ bait boat pairs a 5200mAh built-in lithium battery with a 500m remote control range, which is pretty standard for a bait boat these days, and offers great value for money.
But why would you buy this?
Well, there are 5 speed settings so you get bait out fast on a large lake, or step down to the first level to delicately navigate the boat into position.
I liked this option, because some bait boats may only offer two speed settings at best!
Movement was efficient, and it certainly didn’t seem sensitive or sluggish.
A look underneath reveals a three-blade propeller, powered by a double motor, which was a bit noisy compared to other models on the list.
If you are fishing in a swim with very few anglers close by, you could probably get away with it!
There are two night lights at the front for anglers who want to top up their bait spots in the dead of night.
As for the technicalities, the hopper holds around 1.5kg of bait, with battery life clocking in around the 2 to 3 hour mark, which is impressive for a bait bait under £200!
In my opinion, this certainly would be good enough for delivering small quantities of bait, but there are better options out there if you have the budget behind you.
If you have never used a bait boat before, this would be a good first step without committing a lot of money!
5 speed levels
Powerful bait hopper ejection
Automatic motor cut-off
2 x headlights
Powered by a 7.4v/5200mAh rechargeable battery
Battery Life: 2-3 hours
DHouse Bait Boat
First off, I am going to place this into the ‘budget’ bait boat category because its cheap, small and the remote offers very little functionality.
So why buy then?
Well, some of you maybe beginners to carp fishing, or may of never even used a bait boat!
In that case, this could be great first model if you are on a budget or simply want to try one out.
So, let me tell you about the features.
It holds 1.5kg of bait, which isn’t too bad I guess, in fact it’s very similar in shape and size to the AHWZ Bait Boat we have reviewed above.
Inside, there is a respectful 5200mAh 18650 battery, which lasts around two hours.
The range between the remote and bait boat itself is 500m, which is common for an RC boat.
You do get a bait boat bag included, so again, you won’t have to pay out any additional expenses, or finding a bag that it fits in!
Navigation was OK, speed seemed fine although a little sluggish as the battery began to wear off.
Personally, I can’t see this bait boat lasting more than a year or two, but as they say, you get what you pay for.
Made from ABS plastic
Large capacity bait hopper (1.5kg)
Automatic route correction
Standby Time: 3 hours
Remote controller battery: 2 x AAA
Includes: Bag, charger and manual

Hengge Bait Boat
At around twice the price of the DHouse and AHWZ models above, the HENGGE bait boat was light, offers dual loading and has a strong battery life.
There are two hoppers, both of which are capable of holding around 1kg of bait each.
I had no issues loading or unloading bait, in fact it was quite the workhorse after using this for 3 days solid!
On closer inspection, the manufacturers had done a great job of sealing all the seams, especially around the battery.
However, there were a screw or two that required tightening, but this may not be the case on your bait boat.
There were also no instructions, but luckily I came across a video that explained how to set it all up ready for its maiden voyage!
I think that the main benefit of the HENGGE bait boat was how easy it was to control and manoeuvre.
This is probably due to GPS, which may explain why it is a little more expensive than some of the budget bait boats we’ve reviewed.
One cool feature I particularly liked was when the low battery indicator turns on, the boat returns to shore. A great idea, and saves having to call the bailiff to rescue it!
On to the technical side now, and the 5200Mah/12000Mah battery (you can chose which battery you prefer before you buy) lasts around 2 and a half hours.
I would recommend purchasing a spare battery and a decent power bank, such as the Powapacs Atom.
Bonus features includes the option to set 3 preset points, and automatic cruise.
A great bait boat that is fairly priced, but is it the best bait boat under £200? We’re not sure.
Anti-collision shell design
5200Mah/12000Mah large-capacity lithium battery
Load capacity: 1.3-1.5 kg
Low noise, high performance
Standard and GPS models
Battery life: 2 hours

DYBDEU Smart Bait Boat
Looking for an efficient way to deliver bait out to your swim?
Look no further than the DYBDEU bait boat!
This high-tech vessel is fitted with a three-blade propeller, making it quick and easy to get around on the water.
It’s also waterproof, so you can rest assured your boat won’t get water damaged.
The double motors mean you can cover more territory in search of the best fishing spots, and thanks to its continuous battery life, you’ll be able to spend a fair few hours on the water without having to worry about running out of power.
Plus, if your battery does run low, the DYBDEU will automatically return to shore so you can easily recharge it and get back out there.
What about bait capacity?
Again, it can hold slightly more bait (2kg) than most of the other models on the list, soif you are looking for a large capacity bait boat, this should be considered.
As for the battery, you can choose between a 5200mAh or a 12000Mah large-capacity lithium battery.
Built-in to the bait boat is automatic calibration of the cruise/yaw, so it won’t go of course or feel like the navigation is off – even at distance.
My suggestion, after using this the best part of two days, is to keep balance on both sides, make sure you put the same amount of bait into each hopper.
This will give you better stability and performance.
Would I buy this?
I probably would actually, because I enjoyed how easy it was to operate, and the twin hopper was a real bonus once I had learnt to get my bait quantiles right!
Its right up there as one of the best bait boats under £200!
Dual motor design
2kg load capacity
5200Mah / 12000Mah large-capacity lithium battery

Perfect for holding all your favorite bait!
And don’t worry about interference with other devices, because the remote control distance is up to 500m, with interference blocking technology.
But what about control?
There are a lot of bait boats where control can feel clumsy, or some just don’t deliver the speed required to get bait out to your spot quickly.
Well, our first bait boat under £200 offers good control.
You can engage forward/backward and left/right at the same time, and comfortably using the included control pad.
Speed is around 5.4km/h, which is not too slow.
I was sufficiently impressed with the battery power too.
There are two batteries, so you’ll have no problem with the duration of making frequent baiting trips.
The whole bait boat weighs around 2.5kg, with a charging time of 12 hours from zero to full.
Get ready to experience some serious fun on the water with the Goolsky Flytec Bait Boat!

Bait Boats under £500
If you have a bigger budget, we have chosen our recommended pick of bait boats under £500 which is the Boatman Bait Boat!
Boatman Bait Boat
After recently reviewing the Boatman Actor Plus GPS Bait Boat , I believe I’ve found one of the best baits under £500!
The main benefits that I enjoyed are:
- the Built-in GPS, with auto drive functionality
- a 3kg bait holding trough, with divider (2 hoppers in total)
- a rear hook release
- Easy maintenance, and it is fast!
Of course there are plenty of other great features, which I will mention later!
The fishing bait boat has a sleek black finish, and an ABS body, which is strong, but light.
I also found the bait boat to be incredibly stable, due to its wide body. This means that driving it when at full capacity, in high winds or rough waters poses fewer risks of tipping or capsizing.
But how long does the Boatman Actor Plus last out on the water?
Well, after a full charge, I would suggest ‘drive time’ as I have dubbed it, at just under 2 hours.
This is plenty of time for a few runs back and forth to your hotspot before you eventually drop your rig into place.
One great feature is almost all of the parts can be replaced, so you can maintain the bait boat yourself – this is a great advantage over other bait boats where you may have to send it back to the supplier, which can then take weeks to be returned to you.
Another crucial thing I noticed was the lack of antennas, which, when i think about it, is great for when you need to navigate your bait load under an overhanging tree.
Planning on fishing through the night?
Well, there are front and side LED’s, controlled by a switch, which really light up the path so you can bait up your spot at night if you wish.
Did I mention how quiet this thing is too?
The propellers and engine have been optimised to emit as little noise as possible as not to upset fellow anglers.
Overall, I really enjoyed using the Boatman Actor Plus, and although it is on the expensive side, I really thought it was good value for money considering the features on offer.
A well thought out design, it is quiet, fast, powerful with very little maintenance.
Can be retrofitted with GPS and/or fish finder
Range: 500 metres
Li-ion batteries 10 Ah, 1.75 hours driving time
Easy one-handed remote control

2 separately operated feeding troughs

Lake Reaper Bait Boat
If you’re looking for a bait boat that will help you get your bait out to the lake quickly and easily, then the Lake Reaper is definitely worth checking out.
This boat is designed for fishermen who want to spend more time fishing and less time transporting bait.
In this review, we’ll take a closer look at some of the features that make the Lake Reaper so popular among anglers.
The Lake Reaper bait boat is made from sturdy and durable materials, so it can handle the wear and tear of frequent use.
It also has a low profile design which makes it easy to transport and store away.
The boat is powered by an electric motor, so it’s quiet and efficient. A proportional electric speed controller has been fitted, which means you can control the speed as desired.
No more slow or fast modes – you dictate how fast or slow you need to go as you look to position your bait boat over key areas for baiting up.
One feature that I liked was the automatic bait release system, which ensures that your bait will always be where you want it to be and this worked everytime. There was absolutely no jamming!
Overall, the Lake Reaper bait boat is a great option if you’re looking for a boat that can handle the demands of fishing in fresh water.
