Cool Bag Reviews
You wouldn’t want your bait to let you down, or your food to go off, so we wanted to make choosing the best fishing cool bags easy for you in our handy guide below.
Speero Bait/Cool Bag
The Speero Bait & Cool Bag is available in medium (1.75kg of bait) and large (3.5kg of bait) and is made to fit into the modular cool bag (link here)
Speero have designed a wipe-clean material, and I have to say, there is nothing worse than fishing luggage that can’t be wiped down!
I am also a fan of this style of DPM camouflage, but if you’re not, don’t worry, because its available in green too.
Due to the size, I found this useful for storing bait oils, dyes, sprays and liquid attractants.
If you do buy this cool bag, I would highly recommend taking a look at the Speero Brew Carry Bag or the pouches kit, which I found great for storing free baits in.
A strong contender for the crown of one of the best fishing cool bags?

Korum Transition Bait & Bits Bag
A decent sized cool bag from Korum that offers anglers a method for keeping both bait fresh, and a minimal amount of tackle in one place.
The main area is used for storing bait such as boilies, pellets or even tins of corn etc.
There wasn’t a lot of space in the front pocket but could be useful for smaller items such as scissors, a catapult or terminal tackle.
Inside, the inner lining can be wiped clean in case of spills.
Korum insist that the material used in manufacturing is light, tough, and more waterproof than other leading cool bags.
In fact, the same material is used right across the Transition luggage range.
I feel that this is one of the best fishing cool bags if you have the opportunity to stalk carp in the margins as you can carry both bait and tackle around with you, saving you the hassle of carrying too much with you.
Fits in well alongside the Korum rucksack, or for placing under an umbrella or inside a bivvy.

Avid Carp A-Spec Compact Cooler
I’m a huge fan of the Avid A-Spec Luggage because its strong, high quality and isn’t expensive.
The compact cool bag is no exception. The design team have brought some useful features, rather than just a main section for bait and food, and an outer pocket for accessories.
I would describe it more of a multi-purpose bag, because you can use it for your brew kit as there is a removeable gas canister holder attached to the outside.
Dura-tech fabric and a Stormshield base make it rigid and easy to clean, whilst inside, the walls are fully insulated.
Additionally, 10mm heavy-duty double zips look and act strong, as opposed to some fishing luggage sets that may feature flimsy zippers that break too easily.
Avid Carp state that its ‘ideal for short sessions and overnight fishing’ but the truth is, it can be used for any purpose, whether that’s a UK carp holiday or a quick day trip to your local lake.
Overall, a well-built, versatile piece of luggage that is one of the best fishing cool bags I have come across so far.

Dimensions: 40cm x 25cm x 20cm
✔ Stormshield Base
✔ Dura-tech Water Resistant Material
✔ Fully Insulated Walls

Preston Innovations Supera Round Cool Bag
Made from 100% polyester, the Preston Supera Round Cool Bag is the idea size for storing bait and any smaller terminal tackle items, such as hooks.
These could be feeders, pole pots and scissors.
Finished off with a strong neoprene handle, it fits inside most sized buckets making for a great space saving cool bag for any leisure or competitive angling.
Match fishermen have raved about the Supera luggage for a while, so I was eager to get my hands on this!
It complements the Supera EVA storage system well, and fits in alongside other notable luggage such as the carryall and drop bucket.
In my view, this is one of the best fishing cool bags for saving space due to its innovative round shape designed to fit into your bucket!

Korda Compac Large Cool Bag
Whether you intend on fishing a day session, a long weekend, or just a few hours after work, the Korda Compac Cool Bag has something for everyone.
Designed to keep food, drinks, and baits as fresh as possible, these look stylish, well built and blend into the rest of the Compac range well.
I only got my hands on the medium cool bag last week, and I have to say it is very spacious, with plenty of padding inside.
The base is reinforced, making it hardwearing and the material is waterproof, and spills and stains can be wiped up easily.
Korda have released cool packs which can keep its contents cold for much longer.
There are four size available in total.
The small offers an 8-litre capacity and is ideal for short trips, the medium cool bag can hold 12 litres and would suit an overnight fishing expedition, and then the large cool bag, which has a 25 litre capacity, would make the perfect cool bag for a long weekends.
Or you could opt for the extra-large bag which has a mammoth 34 litre capacity and would suit a week long holiday at home or abroad.
Other features include external pockets for any small tackle bits you need to keep close to your bait, internal straps to stop things from moving around, and a reinforced carry handle.
I really like this range of cool bags, especially as there seems to be an option for everyone.
Perhaps one of the best fishing cool bags that covers a wide range of trips.

Fox Camolite Large Cool Bag
There is not a lot to say that hasn’t been said already about the Fox Camolite range!
It is incredibly popular amongst carp anglers; some even try to collect the whole set of carp luggage (at great expense I might add!)
Anyway, because we are reviewing cool bags, we just had to include the Fox Camolite model.
Featuring thermal lining and made from 100% treated 500D polyester, there are strong side handles so you can remove it from your barrow a bit easier.
If you own the Under The Barrow Bag, this cool bag fits perfectly inside!
The 8mm double zips, as featured on most of the Camolite luggage, are large and very strong.
You can pick from either a standard and large cool bag.
A fantastic addition for keeping your bait fresh and your food cool.
Due to the popularity of the Camolite luggage, I will say this is one of the best fishing cool bags if you love the camouflage pattern.

Over the past couple of years, the Daiwa N’Zon range has really grown on me due to the quality and clean easy material.
The cool bag in the range has a 26-litre capacity, offering you plenty of space for bait such as maggots, sweetcorn and pellets.
Because the inside is padded with foil insulation, you could also keep any food and drinks cool during your session.
On the outside, the rim is reinforced making it rigid and strong.
A padded and adjustable shoulder strap combined with Velcro closure grip handles make this is a compact cool bag that offers complete versatility.

Daiwa Black Widow Cool Bait Bag
Available in either large, or extra-large, the Daiwa Black Widow Cool Bag is well made and provides excellent value for money.
The material is made using 500D polyester, backed with a PVC coating that can be wiped down with a cloth easy enough.
A peek inside reveals a foil lining for keeping food and bait cool, in fact the main compartment is fully padded out.
On each cool bag, the compartment can be opened or closed using twin zips with D vec toggles which are easy to grip – even with wet or cold hands.
You don’t need to worry about carrying options neither, because this cool bag features both double neoprene handles on top and an adjustable shoulder strap.
You can store smaller accessories in the front pocket which is reasonably sized.
If you are new to fishing, or have never thought about owning a cool bag before, then the value combined with all the great features of this cool bag makes this a no-brainer.

Solar Tackle SP Cool Bag
The Solar Tackle SP Cool Bag is available in two sizes: session and standard.
Both are fully insulated with foam and a removeable reflective inner lining to make cleaning easy.
The smaller standard cool bag is ideal for 24-48 hours, whereas the session version has capacity for bait or food to last longer, maybe up to a week if you use cool packs.
High specification clips and straps have been added (those used in mountaineering) so you can be assured they are strong and reliable.
If you turn the bag over, you’ll see that the EVA base is moulded and hardwearing.
Its quite expensive compared to other notable cool bags, but if you don’t mind paying that bit extra for added quality and a longer lasting piece of luggage, then the Solar Tackle SP Cool Bag could for you.
For style alone, this deserves a place on our best fishing cool bag list!

The size of the cool bag you choose is important.
You’ll want to make sure that it’s big enough to fit all of your bait, food or drink, but not so big that it’s cumbersome to carry.
We’ve featured most of the top tackle brands, so you can be sure each is quality made, with strong zips, a decent inner lining to keep contents fresh and cool all day long.
