The Complete Guide To Springwood Fisheries

Springwood Fisheries

Springwood Fisheries is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful day of fishing. Set in picturesque surroundings, our two well-stocked lakes are easily accessible for disabled anglers.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or someone who’s never tried fishing before, we’re sure you’ll have a great day at Springwood Fisheries.

About Springwood Fisheries

At Springwood Fisheries, Ian, the owner, has provided a peaceful and enjoyable experience for all our anglers and guests, whether you’re coming to fish, camp, or stay in a luxury fishing lodge (named ‘log pods’)

Located in the National Forest, Springwood is perfect for those who want to get away from it all and relax in nature. And if you’re an aviation enthusiast, you might even spot the occasional plane flying overhead!

On-site amenities include toilet facilities, as well as a cafe that’s open throughout the week and weekends. They serve hot snacks, beverages, and more so you can refuel after a long day of exploring, fishing or relaxing.

Away from the fishing, there are 4 full service pitches with 25 hook up points for caravans. There is also plenty of space for tents. Campers can enjoy washing up facilities, two shower blocks and a secure parking area.

5 log pods, 3 deluxe and 2 standard, can be rented out daily or on a special rate for weekly stays.

The Fishing

Springwood fisheries offer two lakes, simply called the bottom lake and top lake. The bottom lake is a great place to fish for carp, roach, and other freshwater fish.

The margins are especially fruitful for those looking to catch a good-sized fish. Ghost carp are also prevalent in Bottom Lake, so keep an eye out for them if you’re hoping to add a rarer fish to your collection.

Regardless of what you’re hoping to catch, Bottom Lake is a great place to drop a line and see what bites.

The top lake is home to common, mirror, ghost and crucian carp, as well as silver fish. Baits such as maggots, corn and pellets usually produce good results.

The scenery is beautiful, and the peace and quiet are perfect for relaxation. Whether you’re an experienced fisherman or just trying it out for the first time, Top Lake is definitely worth a visit!
